    East End & NE Boise

East Boise is centered around the tree-lined Warm Springs Avenue that extends to the East and now includes Harris Ranch. East Boise contains some of Boise's largest and most expensive homes, many of which were erected at turn of the 20th century. Victorian styles are featured prominently and are mixed with new areas in the Foothills and along the Boise River. The Warm Springs area gets its name from the natural hot springs that flow from Boise's fault line and warm many of the homes along Warms Springs Avenue.

The far east end of the Warm Springs area was once known as Barber Town is now referred to as Northeast Boise. Barber Town featured a hotel with hot springs nestled into the foothills near Barber Dam. Barber Dam has been preserved and now includes a nature preserve.  It also has new residential developments, with easy access to Highway 21, which leads to the south-central Idaho mountains, the Boise River, the Boise Foothills, and the Idaho Shakespeare Festival.
